SENATE APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE APPROVES MAJOR INCREASE IN ALZHEIMER’S FUNDING

Through bipartisan support, the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee has approved an additional $414 million increase in Alzheimer’s and dementia research. Congress has granted approval of similar increases in recent years and if this bill is signed into law, then federal funding into Alzheimer’s and dementia-related research would reach $1.8 billion. Congress has seen great progress based on research advancements and knows the need to find a cure. Hopefully, Congress will again agree to this increase.

If you want to join our walk team, Michael’s Marchers, at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s being held on October 7, 2017 at Dallas City Hall at 8:00 a.m., just click here.

Recent studies point to the benefits of exercise in staving off atrophy in the brain’s memory center. Although the walk isn’t that long, help us to do our part in trying to find a cure while helping yourself at the same time!
