Member Attorney Sees 2024 Max CSRA Rising by More Than $5K

ElderLawAnswers member Robert Clofine of Pennsylvania has set his predictions for 2024’s Medicaid spousal impoverishment figures.

With the release of the 2023 September Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), Clofine expects the following changes to the numbers for 2024:

  • Maximum community spouse resource allowance (CSRA) = $154,140 (compared with $148,620 this year)
     
  • Minimum CSRA = $30,828 (up from $29,724 in 2023)
     
  • Maximum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance (MMMNA) = $3,853.50 (an increase from $3,715.50)
     
  • Income Cap = $2,829 (up from $2,742 in 2023)
