As of July 1, 2022, the minimum monthly maintenance needs allowance (MMMNA) will be rising to $2,288.75 for 48 of the 50 states. In Alaska and Hawaii, it will be $2,861.25 and $2,632.50, respectively.
This adjustment represents an increase from the current MMMNA of $2,177.50. For Alaska, it’s an increase from $2,721.25 and for Hawaii, an increase from $2,505. These adjustments, which go into effect July 1 of each year, reflect changes to the federal poverty level.
The MMMNA is 150 percent of the monthly poverty guideline for spouses.
