To our Dear Clients, Friends and Colleagues:
As of Monday, March 23, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a "stay safe, stay home" order. If you would like to review the full order, click here.
Even during this crisis, our law firm remains "open" and ready to serve our clients and others in our community who are in need. For the safety and well-being of our clients and staff, we have closed our offices. However, by being prepared, we have the ability to work remotely, eliminating the need and the risk of in-person meetings. Using state-of-the-art technology, we are able to serve virtually all of our clients' needs.
In this time of national and global emergency, we have seen a greater number of people reaching out to ensure that they are safe and protected with up-to-date and effective legal protection in place, should it be needed. We strongly recommend that you review your own plan to make sure you, your loved ones and your estate is protected. In times like this we become frightened by what we cannot control. Making sure that your planning will protect you, is something you can control.
Please know that our team is ready to help in any way we can. We can design and update legal documents as needed. We can help advocate for the safety and well-being of your loved one. We can help protect assets and help access critical government benefits. Presently, all of our meetings are being handled either by phone or video conferencing for everyone's safety. Meeting in this way and using this technology may be new and foreign and may seem difficult, but we will help make the transition as easy as we can.
Remember, if you feel like you would rather wait to do this until after the current crisis ends, we strongly recommend, “do not put it off.” None of us know what could happen tomorrow. Being prepared is being smart and staying safe.
