August Updates

Although the summer is winding down, the busy days of summer continue at our office. The following are some of the happenings at our office this month.

New Team Member:

We are thrilled to announce that Emily Moody has joined our team of attorneys! As a recent Northern Illinois University College of Law graduate (awaiting her bar exam results), Emily has brought with her a fresh and energizing perspective.  Since her arrival this month, Emily has been immersing herself in several practice areas. Based upon Emily's contributions to date, her future is both promising and bright. 

Upcoming Speaking Engagement:

Connie Renzi will be a co-presenter at an Illinois State Bar Association Program, titled:  "Medicaid, Medicare, and Long-Term Care Needs: Rights, Responsibilities, and Remedies," on September 21, 2023. The program is a continuing education program for fellow attorneys. She will be reviewing important information regarding long-term care Medicaid eligibility issues, including recent law and policy changes and post-COVID issues.  

Staying Safe, Amidst Extreme Heat:

The extreme summer heat continues -- in fact, temperatures in excess of 100 degrees are being forecasted for this week.  As such, we are once again providing the link to the common-sense tips, published by the Illinois Department of Aging, for beating the heat and keeping yourself, and your family and friends, safe.

Help for those who may be struggling with mental health issues:  If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues and needs assistance, help is available by calling or texting the recently launched three-digit dialing code – “988”. The new 988 dialing code to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, for mental health crises, is available throughout the United States.  Additionally, veterans can now dial 988 and press 1 to reach the Veteran Crisis Line.
