🎃 Happy October! 🎃 

Did you know that October has been designated as Special Needs Law Month, by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys ("NAELA")? That is right -- October has, once again, been chosen as the month to shine a spotlight on Special Needs Law.  Our office is proud to join NAELA in raising awareness as to the legal services and planning options available to people with special needs and their families.   

Planning for special needs, whether for yourself or a loved one requires careful consideration, as the laws impacting such planning are often complex.  For more information regarding special trusts that may be incorporated and utilized as part of special needs planning, check out the first article below.

Upcoming Speaking Engagement:

Katie Lenert will be a presenter at the Illinois Credit Union League's 46th Annual Attorneys' Conference, November 3, 2023.  The topic of Katie's session is "Long-term Care Planning," and is designed to be a continuing education program for attorneys. Katie is delighted to have been invited back to present again at this year's conference.

Help for those who may be struggling with mental health issues:  If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues and needs assistance, help is available by calling or texting the recently launched three-digit dialing code – “988”. The new 988 dialing code to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, for mental health crises, is available throughout the United States.  Additionally, veterans can now dial 988 and press 1 to reach the Veteran Crisis Line.
