A Life Well Lived: the Legacy of Gary Mickey
This month, our firm pauses to remember and honor our friend, colleague, and recently retired partner, Gary K. Mickey, who passed away on June 28. 2026.
For nearly six decades, Gary exemplified what it meant to be a lawyer of integrity, wisdom, and compassion. As a founding partner of our firm, he dedicated his career to serving clients with exceptional skill while never losing sight of the people behind every case. Whether advocating for women and those facing injustice, mentoring younger attorneys, or offering thoughtful counsel to clients and colleagues alike, Gary's steady presence and unwavering commitment to doing what was right left an enduring mark on our firm and the community we have the privilege to serve.
Those of us who had the opportunity to know Gary will remember not only his remarkable legal mind, but also his wit, generosity, love of history, and genuine enjoyment of life. He leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond the courtroom—a legacy of professionalism, kindness, and friendship that will continue to inspire us for years to come.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Gary's family and all who loved him. We are profoundly grateful for the years we were privileged to practice alongside him and for the example he set for each of us.
