I hope you enjoy our monthly Elder Law Matters Newsletter.  My law firm's goal is to help seniors, veterans, and their families navigate the long-term care legal maze.

Firm News

• I am very excited that our firm has a new approach to elder law and that is Life Care Planning.  Life Care Planning is a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to solving aging clients long-term care issues.  Too often in the past elder law attorneys were focused only on asset transfers, versus real quality of life issues.  Life Care Planning addresses this.  I really think Life Care Planning is "Elder Law 2.0".  Our firm is a member of the Life Care Planning Assocation of Law Firms.  Take a peek at our new webiste for more informaiton on Life Care Planning.

• I am even more excited that Lisa Muehmel has joined our staff as an Elder Care Coordinator.  She was previously with the Area Agency on Aging 1B and headed up their Medicaid Medicare Assistance Program, where I previously volunteered.  Her skill set, knoweldge base, and contacts have already provided to be very beneficial in assisting clients have the best quality of life possible as they navigate the long-term care legal maze.

• And....I'm even MORE excited that I may be out of the office a couple days for Berry Baby #2.  Our due date for our daughter is December 6th, but she could be here any day now.  In my short absence, Lisa as an Elder Care Coordinator, Carol as a Paralegal or Attorneys Mike Witzke and Marc Wander will be able to cover for any emergencies, plus I will be availble via email during the short absence.
