 National Elder Law Month

May is National Elder Law Month!  With 10,000 Americans turning
65 every day and a projected 40 million Americans age 65 years
or older, this is certainly an underserved segment of the American population. Baby Boomers are growing older and living longer, with fewer resources available for long-term care. As you can see, the importance of planning for one’s future needs is essential.

National Elder Law Month was established by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) as a way to acknowledge the profession that supports the senior community with all of their planning needs, and to raise awareness of the wide array of services that such attorneys are skilled to provide.  National Elder Law Month is recognized by attorneys across the country, including the attorneys and staff here at the Nawrocki Center for Elder Law, Special Needs & Disability Planning, PLLC.

Elder Law and Special Needs Law are focused and specific areas that involve representing, counseling and assisting seniors, people with disabilities, and their families, in connection with a variety of legal issues. The Elder Law and Special Needs Law attorney handles estate planning and counsels clients about planning for incapacity with financial and health care decision-making documents. Attorneys who work in this area of the law assist clients in planning for possible long-term care needs, including at-home care, assisted living or nursing home care, and counsel clients regarding a variety of benefits including Medicaid and Veterans Benefits. Locating the appropriate type of care, coordinating public and private resources to finance the cost of care, and working to ensure the client’s right to quality care, are all part of the Elder and Special Needs Law practice.  So, if you or a loved one are facing these challenges, call us today!
