❤️Happy February❤️ ️
Yikes -- we are definitely knee deep in the winter weather that the month of February in Illinois brings with it! Fortunately, February also brings with it events that can warm our hearts. Both Valentine's Day and National Heart Month are celebrated during the month of February; and Friday, February 4th is "National Wear Red Day" -- to both honor those we have lost to heart disease and raise awareness of the actions we can all take to prevent heart disease. Snow day or not, we will be wearing "red" on the 4th, and doing our part to help raise awareness of the steps we can all take to stop heart disease in its tracks.
When we think about health issues, such as heart disease and other potentially debilitating diseases, we are reminded of the importance of creating life care planning documents, such as Powers of Attorney for both Health Care and Property. One of articles in this month's newsletter, "When Can Someone Be Declared Legally Incompetent," highlights what can happen, if we fail to plan ahead and create valid Durable Powers of Attorney; specifically, guardianship may be necessary. We encourage you to check-out this article (as well as the other articles in this newsletter). If you do not have Powers of Attorney in place (or you would like your current Powers of Attorney reviewed and/or updated) and you would like additional information or professional assistance regarding the same, our legal assistants are available to assist you with scheduling a meeting with one of our attorneys.
To our clients, friends, staff, and community our very best wishes to all for the month of February and the pursuit of activities that will warm your heart!❤️❤️
