Janice Yaklin Receives 2018 Commitment to Caring Award
The 2018 Commitment to Caring Award was presented to Janice Yaklin of the Cromaine District Library, Hartland.  The presentation was made at the Livingston County Senior Power Day, August 3, 2018, by Nancy Nawrocki of the Nawrocki Center for Elder Law.

The Commitment to Caring Award was originated by the Nawrocki Center in 2014 to honor people who have demonstrated commitment, care and service to the Livingston County Senior Community.  Janice is the fifth recipient of this annual award.

Where’s My New Medicare Card? How to Find Out the Status

The federal government has begun mailing new Medicare cards to 59 million Americans. You should keep track of when your new card will arrive and contact Medicare if you don't receive it.

Promissory Notes and Medicaid

A promissory note is normally given in return for a loan. Classifying transfers as loans rather than gifts can be useful because it sometimes allows parents to "lend" assets to their children and still maintain Medicaid eligibility.
