ASNP Teams with Wounded Warrior Project to Provide Services to Veterans with Disabilities

ASNP Teams with Wounded Warrior Project to Provide Services to Veterans with DisabilitiesAs announced during our 2021 National Meeting, ASNP is joining forces with the Wounded Warrior Project, Inc. (WWP) to connect ASNP attorneys with eligible injured veterans and service members who need special needs and estate planning services.

ASNP and WWP have entered into an arrangement in which ASNP attorneys who wish to participate in the program will be identified and paired with a wounded warrior needing services. Approved services will be paid for by the WWP’s Long-Term Support Trust (LTST).

WWP’s mission is to honor and empower injured service members by providing programs and services to meet their needs. One of those programs is the Independence Program (IP), which provides home and community-based services to injured service members living with a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other neurological condition. Injured service members enrolled in the IP are eligible to receive services from WWP’s LTST. Funding from the LTST pays for supportive services that allow IP participants to remain in settings that are as independent as possible, and to assist with long-term care needs in the event that an IP participant becomes separated from his or her current caregiver by reason of the caregiver’s death, disability, or other reasons.

“ASNP is honored to participate in this program assisting our wounded veterans,” ASNP’s National Director Kevin Urbatsch said. “We are certain our members can be of great services to the wounded warriors in ensuring their future planning needs are met.”

ASNP co-founder Vincent Russo’s law firm, Russo Law Group, PC, will coordinate the provision of special needs planning services by ASNP attorneys to program participants. Details will be announced as more information becomes available.
